Mervyn’s Party

Remember the day where me and my primary school friends went to town to buy our friend a present? I didnt snap the gift itself, but the paper bag it was in looked pretty pricey. :D

Saturday was his party, it was not a big party. I thought I could go and get inspired for my own 21st, but his party was way too small.

It was fun meeting up with my old school friends as well. We chatted about the past and our plans for the future. Many of our classmates have drifted apart and I’m happy we stayed.

Birthday boy is the guy with that Fitch NY shirt.

One of my primary school friends that I’m excited to meet is him. We were just friends, but in our class, both of us were close because of our love for books. He pretty much changed, from the bookworm to someone (idk..) cool? I’m still the same, heh!

I remember the time when he wanted to read Harry Potter, so I brought my big ass HP book to school. We were in class, going to exchange our books when our teacher caught us. Memories~

Well, I’m glad I met them and I hope we’ll have more outings in the near future. :)

Participating in the surprise party

Few days back, I participated in a surprise party for my colleague, Amin, who had to leave due to his NS(National Service) enlistment. I don’t know him that well, considering the fact that I just transferred in just over a month. However, Amin had already bonded with my existing colleagues as he had been working there for over a year!

It was weird since I don’t really know him, but no harm trying to be a good sport right?

There was 5 of us closing the shop that day, and all of us (excluding Amin) was like “Aw, I’m going to be sad when you leave.” But when in fact, everyone was waiting at Orchard Ion’s open space for him.

We even took photos together in the shop saying that how we can’t get a group “farewell” shot it was just us 5. (That’s me with the glasses!)

Amin was a lil’ sad, he did baked cheese cake for all us. Which I must add, tasted deeelicccious!

After closing the shop, Amin went out with some colleague for a “smoke break” when in fact it was a decoy to lure him to the party venue.

As soon as he came into view, there was everyone! shouting his name and smiling broadly.

Some waited for hours after their morning shifts till the time for the surprise party, while some personally went down to join. In any case, I’m sure Amin is pretty happy and touched.

2012 Chinese New Year

It was a love/hate relationship for this year’s CNY for me. Haha.
Love because for obvious reasons; you’ll be getting money!
Hate because I had to cut short my trip to Thailand. :-(

Chinese New Year was oookay. (You can’t complain when there is free money!) It was a time for family gatherings and stuffs but since I was celebrating with my boyfriend’s family, I was real awkward. I wasn’t close to any of them so I just sat around with my iPhone.

I had a group cousins shot in the first house I went. I was in fact actually standing, looking at them from a distance when one of my boyfriend’s aunty said to me “Go in the picture, you’re also a cousin.” Does that mean they accepted me as cousin-in-law? Hmm.

Me in the qibao. Please ignore the fact that I look pregnant. :-( I’m not, its just that the dress was unexpectedly protruding when I posed.

The dress is supposed to look like this. (picture taken before Thailand trip)

Took the above mentioned picture because I wanted to look for matching shoes while in Thailand. Couldn’t find anything though, so I had to wore my old pair of heels which I bought 2 years back. Also from Thailand, but worn less than 3 times?

During my CNY celebration, I had to go back to my workplace to get the shop key as I had to open the shop on the next day. Which was double pay(the second day of CNY), thats why I decided to work instead of getting more ang pows.

January is my rich month.
