A Wedding in Surabaya

My first destination wedding.

The first wedding where I’m truly excited to go.

Cath was a good friend of mine in school. When I dropped out to pursue my interest, we lost contact. I thought to myself “There goes my friend“. 4 years later, I received an invitation to her wedding, along with the rest of the clique! I thought she had forgotten about me. I didn’t realised I was still considered a close friend!

I was touched especially after I heard that she only invited a selected few.

I booked my tickets soon after and went to meet the rest of my friends. Boy did I missed them. I missed our conversations, the laughter and their presence. Not many people like the conversations that I like. But they do. Actually, only Prun, the rest just judged.

It was a beautiful wedding. Simple yet all out at the same time. Cath held a small wedding, but hired the best makeup artist in Surabaya, as well the top DJ. I’m sure there were a lot more but I’m not sure who are they.

The morning of her wedding, Cath invited us to her home while she prepared. It was a nice gesture for her as we get to witness her private life with her family. I even got my makeup done by a makeup artist!

The wedding itself was beautiful even though it was in another language. My friends and I sat on the bench feeling proud to see our best friend walk down the aisle.
